Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has partnered with Coursera, an online e-learning platform in a major move to cushion the effect of COVID19 Pandemic on the academics of its students and staff.
This development was made known to the public through a Newsletter sent to by the school.
This partnership affords students and staff of the University to enroll for courses on the e-learning platform for free.
Some programs currently available for students and staff to enroll includes Virtual Reality, Blockchains Basics, Business Leadership, Cloud Computing, Computer Security among others.
According to the newsletter sent by the office of the PRO, the Registrar of the University, Dr. Kayode Ogunleye, said the development is a digital leap towards transforming the learning experiences for our Students, Alumni, and Staff.
“Committed to finding ways of ensuring that the ravaging COVID-19 does not hamper the academic pursuit of its students, the Management of LAUTECH announced her going into partnership with Coursera, the leading online learning platform, to make our students more relevant globally and job-ready” the newsletter reads in part.
The Registrar further mentioned that “With the COVID-19 lockdown and the challenges the pandemic has caused, the management of LAUTECH deemed it necessary to provide an internationally recognized eLearning platform for student continuous engagement via Coursera for Campus Initiative.
Students, Alumni and Staff are encouraged to join this free program sponsored by the university to Mae the best of time spent at home during this pandemic.
“To this effect, all students of LAUTECH are encouraged to enroll for any online courses or guided project-based learning. Faculty, Staff and Alumni members that are interested can also make use of this opportunity for personal development and career progression”. Said the Registrar.
